Genesis Fashions Ltd. – an industrial project set out to eliminate the stereotypical hide and seek of the owner and employee groupings. Riots, disputes, etc. regarding garments factories are quite common in Bangladesh’s setting where the injustice in wages, inequality and lack of basic human rights lead to frequent protests and eventual misunderstandings making a permanent classification between these two groups. So what can architecture do to mend things in such a case? Build a workspace which respects the employees and the administration to merge them as one team. Creating no visual barriers like walls between all work spaces, Genesis Fashions Ltd. stimulates a clear connection and inspires a friendly working environment. A conscious effort to please and maintain discipline eventually becomes a subconscious way to proper work ethics for all involved. Even in the construction of the project, the aim was to make no wastage in materials as possible by maintaining a regular module of bricks. Surface narratives in the exterior as well as interior spaces instigate an emotional connectivity to the workspace making them feel almost religious about work, language and to trigger out any negative feelings.
