Voot is a Bengali word which generally indicates some super natural power, In Bengali legends Voot (Ghosts or spirits) is generally found in haunted houses or in trees. Commonly we are supposed to be afraid of the voots! But what if there were some place where this fear of ghosts can be enjoyed? The preliminary idea of this restaurant was to conquer fear and frustration with joy and entertainment through fear!
The restaurant is divided into two parts -Ground floor is called bop restaurant for general people of all ages and first floor is called domboru only for couples. VOOTS (Ghost) gathered in a particular hall room known as VOOT Jomayet. Exposed bricks collected from a ruined old building in old Dhaka have given it a unique look unlike any other restaurant. Again uses of glass with wooden frame, artificial lights have given the restaurant a contextual flavor. It is a superimposition of contemporary architecture with a contextual essence.
